Malinali Gálvez Ruiz, sister of Xóchitl Gálvez, has been sentenced to 89 years in prison for organized crime, aggravated kidnapping, and possession of exclusive-use cartridges of the armed forces. Judicial sources have confirmed this information.
The arrest of Malinali Gálvez occurred on July 20, 2012, in the State of Mexico, during an operation by the now-defunct Federal Police. In this operation, which also led to the detention of five other alleged kidnappers, two victims who had been kidnapped for 60 days were rescued.
According to authorities, Malinali Gálvez was part of the kidnapping gang known as Los Tolmex, which was known for its extreme danger. It is mentioned that this group mutilated its victims, recorded videos of the acts, and sent them to relatives demanding large sums of money as ransom. The kidnapping she was involved in occurred on May 22, 2012.
Malinali Gálvez's alleged participation in this case involved a scheme in which she arranged a meeting with the victim in Mexico City under the pretense of seeing Xóchitl Gálvez. However, during the process, they were kidnapped and locked in a small cage. A ransom of 20 million pesos was initially requested, which was eventually negotiated down to 2.4 million and jewelry.
The victims were rescued shortly after by security forces, and Malinali Gálvez and her accomplices were brought to trial, resulting in the sentence of 89 years in prison.
